Remembrance Day 2025
A huge thank you goes to everyone who made this year's Remembrance Day commemorations on 9th November such a moving and poignant occasion.
It was wonderful to see how many people came out to show their support during the parade and the church service. The parade set off from the primary school on High Street, led by two drummers and flag bearers. It stopped at the Baptist Church to lay a wreath on the war grave in the cemetery, and then processed to the War Memorial in the Marketplace, where nine wreaths were laid. The parade then moved into the church where it was wonderful to see the pews full to overflowing with villagers of all ages. At the end of the service, there was a final procession back to the War Memorial, where a final salute was given and the crowds was dispersed.
Special thanks go to: the Royal British Legion for all of their support, the scout groups who paraded, the businesses and organisations that laid wreaths, Leicestershire and Rutland 4x4 Support who helped with road closures and first aid, everyone who marshalled and supported the parade, and the verterans and service personnel who took part.
